#Zero Reasons Why @ Youth Advocacy Day at the Capitol
Zero Reasons Why braved the snow to travel to Topeka on Tuesday to meet with 500 other students from around the state for Youth Advocacy Day. They had a photo op. with Governor Laura Kelly, and went to a session of the state senate.
There were lots of opportunities to speak with state leaders about the work we are doing in Hoisington to break the stigma of mental health and prevent suicide. We also met with Tory Arnberger Blue’s office and voiced our support for mental health funding in the state. Our kids got to connect with other schools with Zero Reason’s Why and YouthLink, an organization that has similar goals for helping young people. We also braved the cold by taking a tour up the interior to see the view from the top of the capitol. Our students were exemplary in their conduct and focused on being attentive and polite. “Our group was awesome!!” Said Mr. Lewis. “I was honored to be there with them!"
Activity Cancellations:
Tomorrow 3/26
JV Boys Tennis at Ellsworth moved to 4/5
Varsity Baseball/Softball at Nickerson moved to 3/28
Thursdays JV Baseball and Softball has been cancelled and will not be made up at this time.
